Let's be honest.
This is probably why you're here.
Long Beach, West Beach, Town Beach and plenty of hidden stretches of coastline all offer something different. Some are perfect for swimming, some for surfing, some for walking and some for doing absolutely nothing at all.
Whichever beach you choose, remember the local rule:
Stay a little longer than you planned.
Discover our favourite beaches below:

Long Beach is Robe's most famous beach, and for good reason. Stretching for kilometres along the coastline, it's known for its crystal-clear water, rolling waves and wide expanse of white sand. Perfect for swimming, surfing, beach walks and family beach days, it's also one of the few beaches in Australia where vehicles are permitted on the sand in designated areas.
If you're staying nearby, it's the kind of beach you'll find yourself visiting multiple times a day – morning coffee walks, afternoon swims and sunset strolls included.
For dramatic coastal scenery, West Beach is hard to beat. Rugged limestone cliffs, turquoise water and spectacular sunsets make this one of Robe's most photographed locations. It's a wonderful spot for beach walks, fishing and soaking up the natural beauty of the Limestone Coast. The walking trails along this stretch of coast are dramatic and great for the calves and butt.
Located close to the town centre, Front Beach is a favourite for families with young children. The calm, sheltered waters make it ideal for swimming, paddleboarding and beach games, while the nearby playground, lawns and walking paths make it an easy choice for a relaxed day by the water.
Tucked beneath Robe's historic township, Hoopers Beach offers beautiful views back across the bay to Long Beach. It's a great place to unwind, and a very safe space for young children. During low tides the rock pools provide a fascinating look under the water and terrifying anemones to poke. :)
A short drive from town, Little Dip Conservation Park is home to secluded beaches, coastal dunes and some of the most pristine stretches of coastline in the region. Pack a picnic, bring your camera and prepare to discover some of South Australia's hidden gems. If you are heading out the back it's really important to make sure you have all the information you need to be safe - vehicle rescue can take time so make sure you drop in to the Visitor Information Center and pick up maps and safety information.
Robe's coastline offers plenty of opportunities for surfing, fishing, kayaking, boating and exploring. Local surf beaches provide excellent conditions throughout the year, while anglers can cast a line from the beach, rocks or boat in search of salmon, whiting and other local species. For the most accurate surfing info drop into Steves Place on the main street, with over 50 years in the bus they know their breaks.
Bringing the dog? Good choice. Many of Robe's beaches offer plenty of space for four-legged holidaymakers to stretch their legs, sniff absolutely everything and enjoy a seaside adventure of their own. Be sure to check current local regulations and leash requirements before heading out.
The best thing about Robe's beaches isn't just how beautiful they are. It's how they make you feel. A little slower. A little calmer. A little less concerned about what day it is.
Find your patch of sand, kick off your shoes and stay a little longer than you planned.
